Nuclear Power

April 22, 2013

A nuclear weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release vast quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter. It contains about 20,000 tons of TNT, a small nuclear device no larger than traditional bombs can devastate an entire city by blast, fire and radiation. The first nuclear ever was used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan by the United States during World War II. Today, any country holding nuclear weapons are known to be superpowers. The United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, the People’s Republic of China, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea have nuclear power. Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine had nuclear arms during the Soviet era, but after its collapse each returned their nuclear arms back to Russia. The Islamic Republic of Iran is known to be building its nuclear power and will be ready anytime in the near future. This has been a concern for many countries like United States where they are against the idea of Iran holding nuclear power. Nuclear bombings cause so much trouble for the victim’s people and the country’s environment. In Japan, till today, Hiroshima and Nagasaki are not that much suitable to live in, the cities have become radiated. Japanese people are suffering from genetic disorders and abnormalities to this day. People have predicted and believe that the World War III will be fought with nuclear bombings which will put an end to this world. I believe countries with nuclear weapons must sign an agreement to cancel out all the nuclear power weapons once and for all to assure a safety future for our coming generations.

there are so many uses for the nuclear power. Although it was used in war, it should be used in such a way to maintain power stability in the world. All countries should have the right to use nuclear power because it can be useful.
